The Old Lyme Country Club is
located on McCurdy Road near Route 156. Established in 1916, we
are one of the oldest private country clubs in Connecticut. We offer an
excellent nine hole golf course, tennis courts and paddle tennis. In the
club house we serve evening dinners twice a week, brunch on Sundays
and lunch every day except Monday. We have regular
bridge games, with lessons, interesting speakers and musical
entertainment throughout the year. Members are entitled to use
the club for private functions and to entertain non-member
guests. There are several different categories of membership.
The Club is governed by a Board and elected officers.

Our Mission is to strive for excellence in maintaining and
improving our small informal social organization, and in offering a broad
variety of attractive recreational facilities and programs. Of paramount
importance are the preferences and long-term interests of our current and
future members. High standards in the area of financial stability, capable
staffing and sound cost-effective management must be continually reinforced. |

Founded in 1916, club
members rented then purchased 35 acres of land on McCurdy Road from
the Evelyn McCurdy Salisbury Estate. The first clubhouse was
in the late 18th century farmhouse located by the road. On New
Year's Day in 1960, a fire burned the clubhouse and a present New
England style building was built on top of the hill. It has
been enlarged, modified, redecorated and landscaped over the years
while retaining its charm and warmth. The club continues to
add to and strengthen its core facilities while remaining flexible
to consider changes and improvements desired by the membership.
